3  You can get to the class website by typing the address http://www.rlccomputer.com into the address bar of Internet Explorer and then pressing the Enter key on your keyboard. The current day's classes are listed on front page. Click the Intro to Power Point entry if its there. http://www.rlccomputer.com  If its not there then click on Courses on the main page. Then select Power Point Curriculum and click on it's entry.  Find the entry for Intro to Power Point and click on it to get to the page.  Please remember that you can always ask the Computer Lab Tech to help you get to this page. 6  The reference book for this class is "Microsoft Power Point :Step by Step" by Joyce Cox and Joan Lambert published by Microsoft Press,Redmond,WA, 2010. A copy is available in the Computer Lab.  Microsoft Office 2010 for Dummies by Wallace Wang contains simplified help for Access,Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word and is also in the lab.  A way of getting help is to go into Google and put in key words describing your problem and see what Google can find in the way of solutions to your problem which most probably other people have experienced before you.Google Reference Material

9  Find a partner  The person closest to the door shares for thirty seconds about who you want make a presentation on.  The other person just listen’s, doesn’t comment or give advice and then says “Thank you”.  Then the other person shares for thirty seconds about who you want make a presentation on. 10  Date............  My name........  What do I want to get out of this course........  One specific outcome I want to get out of this course.....  What do I want my audience to do as a result of listening to my presentation?  The title of my presentation….  A 50 word or less outline of what’s in my presentation, i.e. an outline  Title slide…….. Slide 1……… Slide 2…….. etc. Last Slide……. What do I want to get out of this course

11  Now print out your file by typing Ctrl-P (Hold down Ctrl key and press P), then press Print.  Please print your name and date on it and turn it into the instructor by the end of next week.  Print out another copy for yourself and put it in your folder. Print out your Goals

16  To get into Power Point, click on the Start button in the lower left corner of the screen, the Start menu should appear.  In the box with Search Programs and Files, type in PowerPoint. Windows then searches for file names containing the word PowerPoint.  The Icon labeled Microsoft Power Point 2010 should appear at the top of the list.  Click on the Icon and the Microsoft PowerPoint will appear. Open PowerPoint

19  Click on Click to add title and it should disappear.  Type in the title of the title of your presentation, e.g. My Presentation or the actual title of your presentation  Click on Click to add subtitle, it should disappear.  Type in the a subtitle of your presentation or the words My Presentation subtitle Adding the title of your presentation
