2 20 th Analysis and Computation Specialty Track Paper Management System Go to http://submissions.miracd.com/ASCE/ac2012/Login.asp to login to the paper management system. If you have ever used Mira you have an account. You do not need a new account every year. If you are a new user select New User at the top of screen to create an account.http://submissions.miracd.com/ASCE/ac2012/Login.asp Use this if you forgot your password

3 Author Page Authors have 3 choices; 1)Submit a New Individual Abstract 2) Submit Abstract to an Existing Session Proposal 3) Create a New Full Session Proposal. It is very important that you make the correct selection.

4 Submit a New Individual Abstract Submit a New Individual Abstract – select this if your abstract is not connected to an organized session. It is a single submission that the NTPC will review and, if accepted, will be grouped with other submissions to create a session for the conference. Make your selection then hit Go.

5 Submit a New Individual Abstract Individual Paper/Abstract Proposal: The submission should include the title of the paper, a 250 -500 word abstract of the paper and the author or a list of authors, if appropriate. Please be certain to identify the expected presenter. For each author, please include their name, affiliation, mailing address, e-mail and phone number.

6 Create a New Full Session Proposal Create a New Full Session Proposal – select this if you are organizing a full session. Some session have papers and some that are panel sessions do not. If your session does not have papers you only need to submit the session proposal. In the proposal you need write a short description of the session (100-200 words), identify the moderator and speakers what the speakers will talk about and their contact information. If your session does have papers you must do step 1 and step 2. Step 1: A Session Proposal – The session proposal needs to include: – the session title, –a short description of the session (100-200 words) –the name and complete contact information of the moderator – the name of the organizing/sponsoring committee (if applicable). – the title of each paper/abstract that is proposed to be included in the session including the author’s name e-mail address.

7 Step 2 Submit an Abstract Connected to a Session Step 2) Submit the abstracts for each paper: After submitting the session proposal (Step 1) an abstract for each individual paper MUST be submitted by each individual author as follows: 1. notify the individual paper authors that they need to submit their abstracts. 2. When notifying the authors be certain to tell them the Topic the session was submitted under and full Session Title. They will need to select it from a drop down menu. 3. Individual paper authors must select the option Submit abstract to an Existing Session Proposal Abstract should include the same as an individual abstract.

8 Session Proposal Note: The A&C review committee and NTPC will review the session as a whole as well as the individual abstracts connected to the session. The A&C review committee and NTPC will try to work with the session proposer if it feels that changes are warranted. NTPC sometimes will not accept all the abstracts submitted to a session or may add additional abstracts.

9 When you select Submit a New Individual Abstract First Tab- Authors Page On this page you enter all the author information. Note – what ever is on this page is what is included in the printed material. You can modify this before the paper goes for review or when you upload your final paper.

10 Abstract On the abstract page you enter the title of the abstract and upload the file. PDF’s are not an allowable file type. Use Word. Note: Who ever uploads the abstract needs to upload the final paper.

11 Abstract Details Page On this page select topic. Make sure you hit save and continue.

12 Copyright Read the Copyright information and select the appropriate response.

13 Permissions Read the permissions information and select the appropriate response.

14 Proof Read On this page you view your abstract.

15 Submit your abstract Read the options and select the appropriate one.

17 How to Submit a Session Proposal Session Proposal: A session proposal has two steps. 1) Upload the Session Proposal - select Create a New Full Session Proposal 2) Upload the abstracts connected to the session – select Submit an Abstract to an existing session proposal. (usually done by each abstract author)

18 Upload a Session Create a New Full Session Proposal Select create a new full session proposal and then hit Go.

19 Session Proposal Screen On this screen you select the topic the session should fall under and then enter the session Title. Upload the document. Select Save. It is important that you provide the authors who will upload the abstracts connected to the session with the correct topic and title because they will need to select it from a drop down menu when they upload the abstract.

20 Upload Abstracts to a Session Once the session is uploaded you need to contact your authors of the abstracts and provide them with the correct Topic and Title of Session. When the author logs in make sure they select Submit an Abstract to an existing session proposal

21 How to upload an abstract connected to a session. Select Submit an Abstract to an existing session proposal and hit Go.

22 Author Information On this page you enter all the author information. Note – what ever is on this page is what is included in the printed material. You can modify this before the paper goes for review or when you upload your final paper.

24 Upload an Abstract to a Session Proposal On this page you click on the arrow for Session proposals and select the session your abstract is suppose to be connected to. If you do not know you need to find out before you continue.

25 Copyright Read the Copyright information and select the appropriate response. No forms need to be faxed only use what comes up on the screen.

27 Proofread On this page you view your abstract

28 Submit your abstract Read the options and select the appropriate one.

30 Remember Who ever uploads the abstract is the person who must upload the final paper. Attendance and Registration for the Conference are mandatory. Draft and Final papers are mandatory for the 20 th Analysis and Computation Specialty Track. Allowable file Type -Word 2003(.doc) /2007(.docx) or rft files.
