State of the art review - Denmark Technologies represented in the database –Fuel Cells –Stirling Engine –Gas Turbine –Gas Engine –Other

Fuel Cells Company:IRD Fuel Cells Category:Research / Commercial Contact person:Steen Yde Andersen Technology:PEMFC Power range:1-5 kWe Status:110 installed CHP plants Company:Aalborg University Category: Academic Contact person:Jakob Stoustrup Technology:PEMFC Power range:1.2-? kWe Comments:PhD project – system analysis Status:The project period is September 2003 to September 2006

Fuel Cells Company: Haldor Topsøe A/S Category: Research Contact person:Helge Holm Larsen Technology:SOFC Power range:1-5 kWe Comments: Industrial stack development in close cooperation with Risø Status:Plan to install test micro CHP plants in 2007, Company: FORCE Technology Category: Research / Commercial Contact person:Jesper Noes Technology:SOFC/ Gasification

Fuel Cells Company: Risø Category: Research Contact person:Mogens Mogensen Technology:SOFC Comments:Cooperation with Haldor Topsøe. At Risø the stacking activities are focused on development of components and small scale stacks. Company: APC Denmark Category: Commercial Contact person:Klaus Moth Technology:Diesel engine/PEMFC Power range:1-30 kWe Comments:Uses fuel cells in emergency power plants

Stirling Engines Company:Technical University of Denmark / Stirling Denmark Category:Academic / Commercial Contact person:Henrik Carlsen Technology:Stirling Engine Power range:9-70 kWe Comments:The R&D effort undertaken at DTU has resulted in the forming of the company Stirling Denmark Ltd. The objective of Stirling Denmark Ltd. is to commercialize university research results and competences within Stirling engine enabled biomassfuelled power and heat generation. Status:6 wood chips fired plants are installed and in operation.

Gas Turbines Company:Energi E2 A/S Category:Research Contact person:Felicia Fock Technology:Micro turbine and gas turbine Power range:100 kWe Status:5 CHP plants were installed in connection with an EU development project. Energi E2 does not plan to commercialize this concept in the future, due to low efficiency on gas turbines.

Gas Engines Company:EC Power A/S Category:Commercial Contact person:Jens Otto Ravn Andersen Technology:Gas and diesel engine Power range:10 – 20 kWe Comments:EC-Power A/S has a module concept where the gas engine easily can be replaced with fuel cells when this technology is mature and applicable. Furthermore EC-Power A/S plan to produce smaller CHP-plants in the range 1-5 kW for single households in the future.

Other Company:Gaia Wind A/S Category:Commercial Contact person:Jens Wodstrup Technology:Small-scale wind turbines Power range: ≥ 11 kWe Status:3 installed stand-alone systems Company:Centre for micro CHP Category:Network organisation Contact person:Jan de Wit
