2 “We Care We Can” Food Drive Over the past 2 years, GECDSB students and staff have collected over 250 tonnes of food, valued at over $3.2 million dollars 90% of GECDSB schools participated last year

3 “We Care We Can” Food Drive This year’s food drive will take place during the second and third weeks of November Schools can donate any amount to participate in the food drive Part of City of Windsor Olympic Torch celebration To be successful we need students and teachers to take an active role in the campaign Possible community service opportunity in sorting food at drop-off centre.

5 “Little Dresses for Africa” Little Dresses for Africa is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide relief to children in Africa. People from all over North America join together to make little dresses out of simple patterns. Some sew. Some donate. Some go to Africa and some send others.

7 “Little Dresses for Africa” 2. Fold the pillow case in half and cut out the arm holes so they will be the same on each side. Four easy steps to making the little dresses...

8 “Little Dresses for Africa” Four easy steps to making the little dresses... 3. Fold down the top of the strip about 3/8" and stitch. Slide a 6" piece of elastic at the top so that it will be gathered.

11 “Operation Warm” “Operation Warm” is an organization that provides new coats for kids For about $25, a brand new coat can be purchased for a child in our community.

15 The cost of one ShelterBox is $1000US. Schools could work together to purchase a ShelterBox or a school can make a donation towards a ShelterBox
