To insert a picture, on the Insert tab, in the Illustrations group, click the Picture button. You can insert pictures that are scanned, downloaded from the Web, or taken with a digital camera.

To insert a table from existing text, on the Insert tab, in the Text group, click the Object button arrow, and then click Text from File.

Alternatively, use the Shape Height and Shape Width buttons to resize images. Drag a corner to resize proportionally. Drag a square sizing handle to resize.

Click the Text Wrapping button and then click Square to apply text wrapping.

Built-in picture styles can also be applied using Word. Soft Edges Applied to Picture Click the Picture Effects button and then click Soft Edges.

A soft edge with a higher number of points produces a more dramatic fade between the picture and its border.
