6 Chapter 4 Critical Thinking Questions People sometimes make mistakes in their lifetime. Getting in trouble in school, arrested for a minor infraction, or getting fired. If you are asked a question about this type of situation, how do you think you should respond? What do you think about the practice of requiring a lie detector test as part of the job application process? Discuss both your and the employer’s point of view.

7 Chapter 5 Critical Thinking Despite your best planning efforts, an unexpected emergency arises that prevents you from attending the job interview. How should you handle the situation like this? A person with an advanced education and experience can often negotiate favorable conditions of employment for a job offer. Discuss how much bargaining power a person has in applying for an entry-level job.

As an employee would you rather receive:  A.) A guaranteed 4% annual raise  B.) Possible raise of up to1%- 8%, based on your annual evaluation.  Why?
