17 © 2013 C & SV Consultants & Associates Ltd Common Trends Coaches and clubs respond when they feel closely supported by CCM Coaches that lack confidence are often unwilling to take on schools outreach work; solution = workshops Most clubs lacked any formal process of Club Development or planning We clearly need more full-time coaches in all the counties CSV working with It is a marathon not a sprint– some clubs unaware of the benefits of club development Members clubs lack professional management and rely on voluntary assistance which is often sporadic, inconsistent, and lacks cohesion Clubs and coaches perform better when they feel a valued part of “the big picture” Must be a continuous process with realistic succession planning (regular county level one and two courses) – mixed in with ESR and C&SV workshops/training Constant contact and good communication with the coaches is vital for encouragement, raising standards & future numeric development (ie. Mentoring) NGB/CSP/Other initiatives and personal (coach) CPD 17
