If the new DefaultBorrowing parameter in the [General] section of the ill.ini file is set to Y, the Borrowing Request Form will be automatically opened up and no option will be presented to create a lending request.

Interlibrary Loan Default Borrowing Request 3 Default Opening of ILL Borrowing Request Form A new variable has been added to the [General] section of PC file ill.ini: DefaultBorrowing= Possible values: Y – Enables skipping the dialog box that pops up when the ILL Request button is clicked in the Show node of the Search tab. The Borrowing Request Form is automatically opened up and no option is presented to create a lending request. N – (Default) – When the ILL Request button is clicked in the Show node of the Search tab, a dialog box opens. The user selects which type of request he would like to fill in: Borrowing or Lending Request.

Interlibrary Loan ILL History 4 The ILL History procedure is a new feature that enables archiving old 'inactive' ILL borrowing and lending requests. To support this action, two new batch services were added (both are available from GUI-ILL-Services menu-Archiving): Generate Borrowing History (ill-88) – Enables archiving borrowing requests whose status is one of the following: Cancelled, Closed, Deleted,,Expired, and Unfilled. Generate Lending History (ill-89) – Enables archiving borrowing requests whose status is one of the following: Cancelled by Requester, Closed, Deleted, Expired, and Answer Unfilled.
5
Interlibrary Loan ILL History 5 These services allow the running of the procedures for all 'inactive' requests or for specific statuses. In addition, the users have to fill in the 'Status Date Before‘ parameters so that only requests whose status date is before the quoted date (inclusive) are collected by ill-88/89. ILL Requests that are handled by these services are considered 'history records'. All requests related records remain attached to the requests, so that all request information is saved (BIB records, request to suppliers, copyright records, request logs, etc.). If a request has an attached open cash transaction (cash transactions that are not Closed or Waived), it will not be archived by ill-88/89 services. The history requests are retained in their original ILL Library (XXX40). Each request that is archived will be updated with a request log that records the archive action.
6
Interlibrary Loan Retrieving ILL History Requests via the GUI 6 History requests are not displayed in the GUI ILL regular view. However, they can be called by using one of the options below of the GUI ILL-Borrowing/Lending Search Bar: Search by 'Request number' Search by 'Words from Title’ (history) - Retrieval by words in the title of the history requests. This search will cover only history records.
7
Interlibrary Loan Batch Services for History Records 7 History requests will be taken into account by the following batch services: Borrowing Library Statistic Report (ill-63) Lending Library Statistic Report (ill-64) Patron Link Removal (ill-70) Remove Patron IDs (cir-32) The above services will be executed over the full scope of requests (active and history requests). All other batch services ignore the history records.
