28. Where do we go?  More work on the middleware infrastructure.  The faculty and staff portal is a prototype. We need to work to make it real. Complete a preliminary design. Pilot some applications in discrete areas. Pilot one or two applications campus wide.  Develop a plan for moving forward with an integrated e-whatever model for Madison.

29. Unresolved issues  Is the portal technology we are using the right one, or do we need to change?  Do we need a campus-wide committee as we move forward?  How are we going to get to single sign-on?

30. Challenges for DoIT  We are planning to select and implement a new Campus-wide e-mail system Campus-wide calendaring system  By this summer … ouch.

31. Another tough one  Our LDAP directory service - and campus gate-keepers Conceptually folks agree In actuality, giving up data ownership is very hard for folks.
