SAMMY’S WEBSITE PROPOSAL

STEP ONE: Who will be looking at the page? The people who will be looking at my page will be people who want photos taken of them. First I will be targeting people who want action photography. Then I will start looking towards individuals, like senior photos or family portraits or pregnancy announcements. After that, we’ll see if I want to continue into wedding and engagement.

STEP TWO: Objective of the website? The objective will be to show people my ability to take photos if my style ofphotography they want. It will show my information. It will also sell photographs topeople who want to buy the photos.

STEP THREE: What is the address of the competition and what do their pages look like? All of their pages have a slide show which is pretty necessary in a photography website. They all have About Me’s, Portfolios/Gallery, Contact, and Prices. Some have more kind of spreading it out into different subpages. Others also specialize in more types of photography to have more subpages showing what they do and their prizes. They have simple fun designs.

STEP FOUR: What will the layout look like? (next slide)

Main Page About Me Gallery Different Dates and Event Check out Prices Contact Me

STEP FIVE: What kind of Media will you use? (if, jpg, Flash, animated gifs, director), what type of interaction will the page require and will you need to do any scripting (Java or CGI) or shopping carts? I don’t plan on using any media at all. I want to use Java Script to make a slide show for the main page. I will need a shopping cart. I am still looking into what shopping cart I want to use.

STEP SIX: Make sure to show a main page and sub page for the layout. I am still working/thinking on the layout I want to use.

STEP SEVEN: Where will the page be located and on what type of server? Does the server have adequate resources to meet their objectives? I am still looking into the kind of server I will be using.

STEP EIGHT: How often will you update your pages? I will update my page every time I have a session for taking photos.

STEP NINE: How much money are they willing to spend? I am not sure on the budget yet. But since it’s my project and I’m not paying someone to do it, I think all I’ll have to spend on it is the domain name, the hosting service, and the shopping cart usage from somewhere I’m not sure of yet.

STEP TEN: What are the problems that may complicate the development of this project? I don’t think I’m skilled enough to be able to do everything that I want to be on my page. That is pretty much my only complication.

STEP ELEVEN: Estimate the time to complete project (then multiple by at least 2). 270 hours
