3. Example: The last time I attended a wedding, I was the flower girl.
The topic of the sentence is “wedding.”

4. Write three detail sentences.
Each sentence should tell about the topic.
Use the past perfect to describe what happened and when.

5. Example:
The last time I attended a wedding, I was the flower girl. I had waited three months to wear my new pink dress. After the ceremony, I had eaten so much cake, I thought I might get sick. Everyone had said it would be fun and it was!

6. Finish with an ending sentence.
Restate the topic of the paragraph.
Make it a closing sentence, so the reader knows it’s the end.

7. Example:
The last time I attended a wedding, I was the flower girl. I had waited three months to wear my new pink dress. After the ceremony, I had eaten so much cake, I thought I might get sick. Everyone had said it would be fun and it was! Being the flower girl in a wedding was a very special experience and I’ll never forget it.

8. Now you are ready to write a great five-sentence paragraph!
