Types of Clocks

Analog Clocks What are they? Has two moving hands, an hour and minute hand The little hand shows hours The big hand shows minutes The hours are marked 1 through 12

Digital Clocks What are they? Time is shown using numbers The number on the left of the : is the hour The number on the right of the : are the minutes This clock shows 5 hours and 9 minutes.

Time of Day When telling time, you must say what time of day it is This is shown through the letters AM and PM AM is used for the first 12 hours of the day from midnight to noon PM is used for the last 12 hours of the day from noon to midnight Most digital clocks say AM or PM, not analog clocks
