Artifact #1 We think that this artifact is a balance scale. Maybe used for taxes. They could have put the money of some kind on one of the scales, and used the weights to see how much they needed to pay on the other. This artifact is a balance scale for traders and farmers to find amounts of grain and taxes needed. This tells us that the people were very particular about the amounts there was needed, and gave away.

Artifact #2 We think that this artifact was used to put water in it to bathe in. Archeologist think that this was used as a community bath complete with dressing rooms and its own filtering system This says that the people of Mohenjodaro treasured being clean

Artifact #3 We think that the statue is of one of their gods and they worshiped it. The beads were used in the worship service also. The statue represents how men were dressed and looked. The beads were jewelry to women. These artifacts tell us that they took pride in how they dressed.

Artifact #4 We think they were used as tiles on a Temple wall that tell a story Archeologists think they wore them as charms to keep away evil and merchants tagged their items with the seals to show who owned them. This shows us that the people of Mohenjodaro were very superstitious.

Artifact #5 We think it is a sewer system and it is walled so it doesn’t contaminate the fresh water. Archeologists think this is a sewer system. Clay pipes connected it to homes in the city. They had many wells that collected rain water. The waste flowed into the Indus River. This says that, like the Great Bath, they liked having a clean environment.

Artifact #6 We think that this artifact was an alley between houses Archeologists think that It was homes. The houses were made of mud bricks and they were facing alleys. This says that they lived advanced, and they cared about each other being so close together.

Artifact #7 We think that these are games that kids in Mohenjodaro would play. The blocks seem to be dice and the swirly blocks look like mazes. Archeologists think these are games like a parody of Chess. Clay mazes and game boards are some things that the children played with in Mohenjodaro. This says that the people of Mohenjodaro came up with the base games that we play today, and they were advanced. They also had free time to enjoy these games.

Artifact #8 We think that these are clay statues that would be used as toys or decoration in a Mohenjodaro home. Archeologists believe that this is a terracotta model of a man being pulled along by bulls to a market to sell his crops. This tells us that people in Mohenjodaro enjoyed art and had vegetation and trading systems.

Wrapping it up In conclusion, the people of Mohenjodaro were very advanced compared to the other ancient civilizations that came before it. With their cleanliness, architectural achievements, and their math skills, they were one of the most advanced civilizations we have learned about so far.
