1 Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Today’s PBIS Topic: Dress & Attire Examination Ready Respectful Responsible

2 Reward this week Mr. Ellis will randomly select a student this week. Then, contact that student’s homeroom teacher and ask: 1.Was the student engaged and participating each day that week in PBIS training during homeroom? 2.Does the student proudly represent BCHS (no tardies, unexcused absences, or discipline that week)? If yes to both, then he/she shall receive ……

3 Outside Food Reward A certificate to receive outside food delivery to the school. Conditions of the Certificate: 1)Submit the certificate to Mrs. Rewis the day they wish to redeem it. 2)Prearrange (before school that day) for someone to deliver their food to Mrs. Rewis at the time they go to lunch. 3)When they go to lunch they should go to the office to pick up their food from Mrs. Rewis.

4 PBIS on Attire Ready Understand what is appropriate and not appropriate to wear to school. Respectful Do not wear items which may be offensive to others. Responsible Come to School Conforming to the Dress Code.

5 Dress Code Quiz In the following slides you will see an image. Focus on the attire and determine if it is appropriate to wear to school. If Not, please state the reason

6 Case Study 1 Does Not Conform Student’s pants are not at the natural waist line. This is against city ordinance in Alma (means you will get a ticket if you get a referral for this).

7 Case Study 2 A B C A – Good to Go B – No go. Too Short C – Good to Go

8 Case Study 3 Good To Go. So long as the hair is not a distraction. So what is a distraction you say?

9 Case Study 4 A B C None of These Conform. A – Male shirts must have sleeves B – Female Shoulder Straps must be 3 inches C – No Razor Backs

10 A B C Case Study 5 All three of these are excellent examples of appropriate attire.

11 Case Study 6 A B Neither Conform. Both refer to alcohol.

12 Case Study 7 Facial Piercing is fine. Hood’s are not allowed.

13 Case Study 8 Good to Go.

14 Case Study 9 Even though it says he’s a violator; he’s really not.

15 Case Study 10 Violator: Her shirt should cover her rear since she has on jeggings
