English III Friday Bellringer: Work on your daily journal writing Entry 1 = Chapter 1 Entry 2 = Chapter 2 Fishbowl Discussion next Common Core Standards − RL10: Range of Reading and Level of Text Complexity − R.ST.2: Key Ideas & Details: Determine the central ideas or conclusions of a text reading: trace the text’s explanation or depiction of a process, phenomenon, or concept; provide an accurate summary of the text. Today’s Objectives − SWBAT: read and state details/cite evidence from the reading − SWBAT: record and cite evidence for inferences and opinions as support through journal writing.

Fishbowl 1.Desks in a circle - leave room outside of the circle for people to walk around 2.Ten people stand outside of the circle; everyone else sit down at a desk that forms the circle 3.I will pose a question, someone in the circle answers 1.No interruptions; take turns 4.Outer circle, you will be tagging in to switch places with someone who has already contributed to the discussion 5.Every student must contribute at least one comment/insight/etc. 6.You all will be tagging in and out of the circle. Once you’ve been tagged out, you can still tag yourself back in 7.Again, EVERY STUDENT must contribute at least one comment

HW Finish reading Ch. 3 and answer the questions Make sure you complete your daily journal entries for Ch.’s 1, 2 & 3 For Monday Begin reading Ch. 4 in order to be prepared to discuss it on Monday Monday, we will be reviewing Ch.’s 1-4 and preparing Journal entries 1-4 for Tuesday Tuesday, Entries 1-4 will be due and there will be a quiz over Ch.’s 1-4
