1 English IV Unit 2 Day 4– Review for Trafficking Assessment

2 Do-now: Have out your pre-conference sheets AND outside reading  Write at least 4-5 sentences about what you learned or discussed about labor trafficking yesterday.

3 Announcements:  Next journals are due Friday, Oct. 31 st  If you need a letter of recommendation, don’t forget to send me your resume and your potential major.  POL speeches are due to me and to Ms. Byrne by Thursday night (you don’t have school, but still need to e-mail it to both of us).  Limited slots  250-500 word speech due  Grabber, SPECIFIC example of theme, reflection

7 Charts and Graphs:  The handout shows the numbers and statistics on charges, convictions and providing services for human trafficking in MN.  With your group, use the charts and graphs to respond to the questions and draw conclusions about the situation in Minnesota.

8 Trafficking Assessment  Make sure to be as specific in your examples as you can– give more detail than you think you need.  When you’re finished…  Turn it in at the back  Grab the article, “The how and where of sex trafficking in Minnesota”  Continue working on your charts/graphs practice OR begin reading the article.

9 HW:  Finish your charts/graphs assignment if you have not done so  Complete three think alouds with the article, “The how and where of sex trafficking in Minnesota”  Continue working on outside reading/journals  EXIT:  What did you learn about the trafficking situation in Minnesota today?
