3 Blizzards Blizzards are bad snow storms. They have lots of wind. The wind blows the snow and makes it hard to see. Blizzards have very cold temperatures. There is a lot of snow in a blizzard. The snow can become very deep.

4 A blizzard is a powerful storm. Snow falls from the sky.

5 Blizzards are when a lot of snow comes. Precipitation falls from the sky.

6 Droughts A drought is when there is no rain for a long time. All the plants dry up and usually die. The ground becomes hard and cracked. Most animals have to go somewhere else to find water.

7 Droughts dry up the land. There is no rain in a drought.

8 Drought is when we don’t have water. Plants won’t grow without water.

9 Floods Floods happen when there is too much rain for the ground to soak up. Sometimes rivers and lakes overflow causing floods. Sometimes floods happen when there is a lot of snow that melts. A flood is where there is a large amount of water that covers dry land.

10 A flood is when there is a lot of water. A flood has lots of water.

11 Floods come from the ocean. Floods have lots of water where people can drown.

12 Floods cover dry land and trees. Floods are like water but bigger.

13 A flood is when it rains to much. Floods are lots of water everywhere.

14 Floods have lots of water everywhere. A flood is a storm with lots of rain and the rain stays there.

15 Hurricanes A strong spinning storm. They begin over the ocean and run into the land. Hurricanes have strong winds that destroy homes. They have lots of rain and cause flooding. The rain pushes the ocean water on the land and causes more flooding.

16 A hurricane is a dangerous thing. That is how people get hurt.

22 Thunder is a loud noise that goes back and forth from cloud to cloud. Wind is a windstorm that blows.

23 A thunderstorm is a dangerous storm that can take down trees and can have rain. A storm is a kind of weather.

25 Lightning is a big storm. Lightning is a giant electrical spark.

26 Lightning is in a thunderstorm. Lightning is electricity that is in the sky. There are many types of lightning.

27 Fog is something that people can not get through very well. Fog is blocking a boat.

28 It is very rainy in a storm. Sometimes it can be foggy in a storm. People can not see in fog.

29 Tornadoes Tornadoes have powerful winds. The winds make a spinning funnel cloud. The funnel clouds destroy homes and buildings. Some are strong enough to pick up cars. They have dark clouds. There is rain and sometimes hail.

30 A tornado can attack Texas. A tornado can break things.

31 A tornado is a big thing. A tornado is a big swirl in the air.

32 Tornadoes are bad. They have a tunnel. A tornado is a strong wind.

33 A dusty, swirling tornado, that is gray. A tornado can break stuff.

34 A tornado is a big gray thing that sucks up a lot of stuff. A tornado can suck up anything. It even can suck people up. It can suck up cows and horses to. It can smush stuff too.

35 Tornadoes are very big wind storms. A tornado is a very big, a very big wind.
