1 Movie Maker Constitution Movie Maker Project 10/7/15  Ideas DUE 10/19/15  PowerPoint, Pictures, & Videos DUE 10/21/15  Final Project due at 3pm

2 Constitution Movie Maker Project DUE 10-21-15 Students will create a movie documentary over the Constitution. The movie maker project will use digital pictures or videos that show how the Constitution affects the student’s life here in their hometown. The project will also give some factual information over the Constitution as well. Project – You may do the project alone or with a group with no more than 3 people. You will choose at least 12 things in the community (if alone - 10 things), school, homes, etc that show examples of how the Constitution is alive in our community. Students will use a video camera and/or pictures to demonstrate their knowledge of the Constitutional amendments, to present factual information on what the Constitution is, why it is important, how it is used today, and to show how the Constitution affects people in our community. Projects will show actual examples of how the different amendments affect life in small town South Dakota. You need to be creative with this. Your projects will need the following: 1) An introduction piece – Title of your movie, eye catcher 2) Factual information on the Constitution 3) 12 examples of the Constitution alive in our town – show what part of the Constitution is being used. 4) A closing piece – This will wrap up your project – Credits.

3 Be creative with your project. You can find many ways and examples of how the Constitution is alive here in Chamberlain. DO NOT COPY IMAGES FROM THE INTERNET! LANGUAGE SHOULD BE APPROPRIATE AT ALL TIMES. NO BEER/ALCHOL You should include music in your piece where you can. Be sure that it is appropriate. Once you finish with your picture and video gathering, you will put your information on Windows Movie Maker. Your project should be a minimum of 2 ½ minutes in length and no longer than 6 minutes. Below you will find the grading assessment for this project: Grading Rubric for Constitution Project 4 = A – Project is over 4 minutes in length. All 12 examples were used. The project format was followed. The finished product flowed well and was an excellent example of how the constitution works and affects the lives of everyday people. Extras such as music, text, etc were used to ENHANCE the finished product. 3 = B – Project was over 3 minutes in length. 12 examples were used. The project format was followed. The finished product flowed well and was well put together. Extras such as music, text, etc were used to improve the finished product. 2 = C – Project was 2 ½ to 3 minutes in length. The project format was followed and 10 examples were used. Finished product was not put together in a way that flowed well. Extras such as music, text, etc, were not used on the finished movie. 1 = D – Project was less than 2 ½ minutes in length. Project included only 7-9 examples of the Constitution. Project didn’t follow the format listed above with the introduction, factual information, examples, and closing. Dead Time~ for every 10 seconds of dead time = deduction in grade by 10% If the project is not presented to the rest of the class = (-13 points)
