8 How does light travel? Light travels in straight lines called rays that fan outward from the source of light. You can see how light travels by looking at a shadow.

9 Electromagnetic Radiation All forms of light are called electromagnetic radiation. – All electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed through empty space and carry energy Humans can see some light, but they can only see a small part of the universe’s light energy. Light travels as waves, but humans can only see certain waves. This is because of their wavelengths and frequencies.
