3 Geographic Features and Climate Zimbabwe is slightly larger than Montana. Its capital is Harare-located in the north east. The “veld” is a way to describe the southern Africa, The savannas were broad expanses of open grass land, and low brush with scattered trees. The land has three different major categories, the highveld, the middleveld, and the lowveld. The highveld is very elevated and is the main water source. It isn’t good for farming because its soil erodes easily. The middleveld rises to an average elevation. It is a declined and sandy elevation and causes constant erosion. The lowveld is sandy and infertile. The soil does not hold moisture very well which makes it hard to farm. Zimbabwe is slightly larger than Montana. Its capital is Harare-located in the north east.
