How Sonnets Work Definition: A sonnet is a 14 line long lyric poem that has three coordinate quatrains and a concluding couplet The rhyme scheme of a sonnet is ABAB/ CDCD /EFEF /GG Should have 10 beats per line 10 syllables per line
