Use case 1 - Privately owned smartphone of a CERN user Demo: https://test-ios-ota.web.cern.ch Accessible in self-service kiosk The user maintains full control over his/her device Some recommended settings (security, EduRoam, CERN CA certificates, auto-config of CERN mail account) Some recommended enterprise apps, ex.: CERN Maps, CERN Box Some recommended App Store or Google Play apps, ex.: recommended Remote Desktop client, free app for making sketches, etc. 06/06/2014 CAPPS - MDM - request for use cases5

Use case 2 – CERN-owned shared tablets used by technicians Forced recommended settings, possibly locking-down the device functionality only to apps needed by the technicians Dedicated enterprise app installed in the correct version Updates fully-managed by an administrator User has no control of the device’s configuration, but expects the device to be correctly configured for their work If broken, a new device to be automatically set up based on a saved configuration 06/06/2014 CAPPS - MDM - request for use cases6
