6 th Grade Expectations Homework Policy (Highlight System) Encore Schedule Wildcat Pride and “Caught You” tickets Friday Folder – Please check every Friday! – Keep papers at home! – Sign and send with your child on Monday! Assignment Notebook – Please check daily, as this is a great way to communicate.

Common core standards that cover: 1)Fractions, decimals, and percents 2)Algebra (order of operations, one step equations, writing and interpreting algebraic expressions and equations) 3)Geometry (volume, surface area, and area) 4)Measurement (conversions) 5)Data Analysis and Probability Look for your child’s math binder every night!

Science Fusion Second year of the new science program - found on Think Central. Includes hands-on labs, digital lessons, and interactive reading activities that encourages critical thinking. Modules: Ecology and the Environment, The Dynamic Earth, and Sound and Light

Story Town Weekly stories from the series – Weekly Robust vocabulary and Grammar lessons – Weekly focus skills (plot and setting, figurative language) – Tests on the Smart Response system – Spelling lists with logical patterns (short vowel sounds) – Novel units each quarter (Hatchet, Number the Stars, Maniac Magee, and Where the Red Fern Grows)

6 th Grade CAMP and Reality Tours There will be a 6 th grade CAMP meeting on September 24th for all three elementary buildings in the high school auditorium at 7pm. More information will be coming home! Dates of BES CAMP: May 23 rd – 25th Reality Tours: (Latrobe Municipal Building)
