7 Language! Who needs LANGUAGE! ? – LANGUAGE! is for students in grades 3-12 whose reading achievement is two or more years below grade level, including English Learners, struggling readers, and students with disabilities. It is a Tier III program that is provided by the district to help our students.

8 Language! Six Steps

9 Why Practice Fluency? “Fluency practice helps teachers monitor student progress in regards to automatic word recognition and phrasing. The ability to read fluently has a direct correlation to reading comprehension. Letter-Sound Fluency, Letter- Name Fluency, Phrase Fluency, Sentence, and Passage Fluencies are spaced throughout units based on which level/book instruction is delivered. While not an assessment tool, fluency practice provides ongoing information about automatic word recognition.” ~ VoyagerLearning.com
