3 March 21, 2007 What is Greenlympic? A conference with a focus on the relationship between sustainability, the Olympics, and the regional urban population. Participating organizations: City of Richmond, Environment Canada, Oxfam, and the Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project. Sponsors and Supportors:Kwantlen University College, Rotary Club of Richmond, Rotary Club of Steveston, Rotary Club of Richmond Sunrise, Rotary Club of Richmond Sunset, Richmond Community Foundation, Richmond School District No.38, W.McConnell Fund, and Canadian Heritage.

17 Meanwhile, the guest speakers and Greenlympic executive directors had a meeting to discuss the marking rubric for competition that took place later on in the afternoon.

18 March 21, 2007 After lunch, students had to develop a project proposal in groups that aims to prepare the community and residents in face of expected environmental changes from urbanization and the 2010 Olympic

28 The winning group received $500 as seed money to initiate their project. 2nd winning group received $300 and the 3rd winning group received $200. In addition, we donated $1500 to the Richmond school district for future youth environment projects

40 Overall Outcomes from this Conference Excellent feedbacks from students and Richmond School District Richmond Community Foundation and Richmond School District have already asked us to host this event again next year We felt that attendees were able to gain an awareness within the entire community with regards to not only the issues surrounding environmental stability, but also to pro-active actions available to the public which can help achieve this stability. Great exposure for the Rotaract Club of Richmond and the Interact Club of Richmond. Many students joined the Interact Club of Richmond after attending the Greenlympic Legacy Conference. We had FUN !

We hope to create strong international ties and internally, promote Rotaract within the community. LADERSHIP THROUGH FRIENDSHIP! When & Where: From May 11-21. They will spend their first day in Richmond, then moving on to Vancouver, South Delta, Victoria, Burnaby, and Whistler. Rotaract Club of Richmond

What Richmond Rotaract has done: We raised over $500 from our clubbing fundraiser in February. Rotaract Club of Richmond
