3 About the GSE program  A unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity  Businesspeople and professionals  Between the ages of 25 and 40  In the early stages of their careers.  Roughly 4 to 6 weeks

5 Travel grants for teams  To exchange visits in paired areas of different countries  To experience the host country's culture and institutions  To observe how their vocations are practiced abroad  To develop personal and professional relationships  To exchange ideas

7 Spring 2011  District 7020 sponsored 2 GSE teams  One from Haiti travelled to Virginia  One from St. Maarten/Anguilla/St. Barth’s travelled to England

8 Spring, 2011  A team from our area travelled to England  Team leader, Rebecca Low, St. Maarten  Team members were from  Anguilla  St. Maarten  St. Barthelemy  The vocations were Hospitality.

9 Spring, 2012  A team from Virginia will return to Haiti  A team from England will return to St. Maarten/Anguilla/St. Barth’s

10 Spring, 2012  A return team from England will be in Anguilla this spring  Anguilla  Saturday, March 10  Sunday, March 11  Monday, March 12

11 Typical 4-week tour  5 full days of vocational visits  15 to 20 club presentations  10 to 15 formal visits and social events  2 to 3 days at the district conference  3 to 4 hours per day of cultural and site tours  3 to 4 hours per day of free time with host families

13 Rotary Foundation provides  For each team member  the most economical round-trip airline ticket between the home and host countries

15 Host Rotarians provide  meals  lodging, and  group travel within their district  This is what Anguilla must provide for the weekend of March 10-12

17 Structure of teams  4 to 6 non-Rotarian team members  usually of various business and professional backgrounds  one Rotarian team leader

19 In the host district  Teams visit local businesses, government offices, and community organizations.  Teams tour historical and cultural sites.  Teams stay with Rotarian host families.  Teams make presentations about their home countries and professions.

21 In the sponsor district  Team members receive orientation and cultural preparation before the trip.  The host country is chosen before a team member’s application and selection.

22 Orientation before travel  Language training  Practice of oral presentations  Visits to Rotary clubs  Background about Rotary International’s mission and the programs of its Foundation.

23 Rotary Club of Anguilla  Reserve the weekend of March 10-12.  Plan now to be with the club that weekend.  All Rotarians are expected to attend and take part in the social activities.

24 Saturday March 10

25 Saturday expectations -  Meet the group at Blowing Point.  Plan to assist, where necessary, with transportation of the team members.  Join us for a lunch meeting.  Museum and hotels tour in afternoon.  Join us for supper on Saturday night.

26 Sunday, March 11

27 Sunday expectations -  Meet at Tasty’s for breakfast.  Assist with transportation where necessary.  If you wish to attend church, you’re welcome!  Meet at Johnno’s for lunch and afternoon activity.  Join us for dinner at Viceroy.

28 Monday, March 12

29 Monday expectations -  Meet for breakfast at 8:00 a.m.  Assist with transportation where necessary.  Meet with Governor at 10:00 a.m.  Join us for lunch to wish them well.  Help us say good-bye at Blowing Point.
