Where in the World Are you? Vocab Part 2 O Absolute Location ~ finding a point on the earth's surface by latitude and longitude. O O You can find the exact location of a city using absolute location. O

Relative Location O Relative Location ~ a location of a place in relation to another place (i.e. south or downhill).

Degree O Degree~ The units of measurement for latitude and longitude O

Plane O Plane~ a surface containing all the straight lines that connect any two points on it.

Scale O Scale~ this is used to compare true distance by showing the distance of items on the map at a smaller proportion. O

Compass Rose O Compass Rose~ a design on a map that shows directions.

Map Key O a key, or legend, to explain the meaning of each of symbol used in the map
