3  How are you persuaded to buy a new pair of shoes?  What goes in to you deciding to purchase those shoes?

8  Exactly what it sounds like…  Using negative words and bad names to create negative emotions for people, ideas, or institutions. Think politics…How do we portray other country leaders that we do not like?

9  Always shows the subject of the message in a positive light. Very little information provided. Most of the time is visual.

10  Using facts and figures to show one side as better than the other.  Designed to make you think you’re hearing both sides….but….  Not even close!!

11  Designed to show a product or person is “just like you.” Ordinary person encouraging you to try a product. Politicians photographed having lunch among ordinary citizens.  The goal is to gain your trust.

12  Using your feelings about one thing to persuade you about another. Can use a positive or negative image…Images could be symbolic or cute/lovable.
