http://climate.met.psu.edu/www_prod/data/frost/images/rainbow.jpg VOCABULARY (5 minutes) transmitted (v): to send from one person, thing or place to another

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) the visible light spectrum

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) NOTE: each film is only letting one color through and is blocking the others

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) It provides a reference to see what white light, which contains all of the colors does, in comparison to each individual color on the film card.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) Light carries energy and when the energy is absorbed by a material, then transferred by the material, if enough light is absorbed, it makes a glowing light. Glow in the dark toys are made of similar material.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) NOTE: Your hypothesis can change as you find new evidence.

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) NOTE: blue and violet had the most energy to make the strip glow

LEARN SOMETHING NEW (10 minutes) http://media02.hongkiat.com/colorfulwp/Rainbow_Ocean__by_Thelma1.jpg Because white light contains blue and violet. The energy of the colors make the strip glow, not the brightness.

SUMMARIZING: One-Sentence Summary Frame Write your response on your E.Q. Log (3-5 minutes) How can we prove white light is made up of a combination of all the colors? (>/= 3-5 sentences)
