2. Lois Lowry is an amazing author. It’s not necessarily how she writes (style), it what she writes (theme). The mature subject matter and deep plot will cause you to think about Jonas’s experience for a long time… and that’s a good thing.

3. IF YOU LIKED… YOU SHOULD READ… Both series create futuristic, dystopian societies that the female protagonist must battle; furthermore, Tris battles lack of confidence, memories of Will, and Peter (literally).

4. Veronica Roth’s second adventure book of the Divergent trilogy, Insurgent, is just as jaw-dropping as the first. Tobias and Tris’s world is turned upside down because the hunt for the Divergent has begun, and now the factions are on the brink of war, possibly destroying the rest of the already crumbling city. Relationships are becoming tense due to no one knowing whether or not they will still be alive tomorrow, and death is being accepted as a daily thing. No one is safe anymore; it’s every man for himself. “One choice can either transform you, or it can destroy you.” If you liked the Hunger Games series, you’ll be bound to love the Divergent trilogy! This coming of age novel highlights the emotional rollercoaster of this teenager in an attempt to get over her boyfriends suicide. The style of this book resembles that of Tears of a Tiger. The author of these books, Shannon M. Draper, has a strong messages for the readers in teaching valuable life lessons. 6. Mitch Albom captivates readers with the stories of two different characters who are each unhappy with their lives. Father Time is set out to teach them a lesson about the gift of life.
