2 Jesuraj,CBM SARO 17.09.2012 IAPB-Conference,Hyderabad Presenting a model for networking… Purpose: To describe the outcomes of an INGO’s initiative to develop networks of small to medium sized eye hospitals. In Tamilnadu & Karnataka, India a network of 6 eye hospitals in different areas was formed. A coastal network was formed of 7 eye hospital in East & West Godavari and Krishna districts of Andhrapradesh, India.

4 Jesuraj,CBM SARO 17.09.2012 IAPB-Conference,Hyderabad Presenting a model for networking… Methods Assessment of the partner’s capacity Provision of technical and managerial support(Human Resource, Organisational Development and others) Strengthening of hospital management systems and standardization for quality eye care services. Establishing linkages with Primary, secondary & Tertiary eye care service Periodical monitoring, evaluating and support provided to the projects.

Improved Quality Management Systems were operational in all hospitals. Better utilization of available resources. Improved cost effectiveness through bulk purchases of consumables and other eye care needs. Improved service delivery outputs.

Helps hospitals improve quality through group learning. Improves the productivity of hospitals. Improves sustainability of the hospital Supports the achievements of Vision 2020
