2 What is a declarative sentence?
A declarative sentence states an idea or provides information. A declarative sentence does not give a command, nor does it ask a question. A declarative sentence ends in a period.

Jenny planted a seed. She gave it water. It sat in the sunshine. The plant began to grow. The leaves grew large. A flower opened.
