1 The skills revolution in South Africa has started. SETAs are undoubtedly the pilots at the helm, ensuring that the vision of “skills for productive citizenship for all” is achieved. By working together with and for their sectors and stakeholders Investors in People is a tool to help you and your organisation achieve objectives

2 National Policy Skills Development Act The SDA seek to establish a high quality workplace education and training system that is cost effective and accountable, meets training needs and which compliments employment and economic growth Investors in People is a best practice tool to develop people to achieve Business Objectives

4 SUCCESS INDICATOR By March 2005, an average of 20 enterprises per sector (large, medium and small), and at least 5 national government departments, to be committed to, or have achieved, an agreed standard for enterprise- based people development

12 A National Standard for South Africa The National Skills Authority has approved Investors in People as the national standard for people development A framework against which we should be able to measure the level of development Investors in People is the Standard

14 Currently 70 recognised organisations within South Africa 350 committed organisations working with the Standard A number of positive Post- recognition reviews taken place Investors in People South Africa update

15 Investors in People and the Future Currently still in ‘pilot’ mode till Dec 04 Evaluation taking place throughout Funding to be secured Full Licence to be signed Fully operational Quality Centre for all Assessment activity Investors in People is included in the 2 nd NSDS for 2005-09
