3 Secondary Source Accounts of past events created by people some time AFTER those events happened Examples: -encyclopedias -textbooks -paintings (if it was painted AFTER the event)

4 Human characteristics Language, religion, housing

6 Physical characteristics Landforms, climate, water, vegetation, and animals

7 Climate Climate: the weather of an area over a number of years (includes temperature, precipitation, wind, and water currents)

8 Natural Resources Things that help support life

9 Adapt To change to fit new conditions

10 Modify Change something slightly

11 government An authority that works for the people
