7 QST (DX Info Courtesy of QRZ DX Newsletter) NCDXC March 17, 2011 Due to the Japanese earthquake/tsunami disaster, it is recommended/suggested to please stay clear of the following emergency frequencies: Operators JARL and Volunteers: 3520-3530, 7025-7035, 14090-14110, 21190- 21200, 28190-28210, 50100, 51000, 14100, 14500, 430100 & 433000 kHz. DXpedition Operators: Please kindly consider QSX freq & RTTY frequencies. It is also suggested to stay away from the IARU Region 3 Emergency Centre of Activity frequencies: 3600, 7110, 14300, 18160 and 21360 kHz.

8 DX NEWS DX NEWS (DX Info Courtesy of QRZ DX Newsletter) NCDXC March 17, 2011 The PJ Story PJ2, PJ4 & PJ9 were ONE entity made up of the islands of BONAIRE and CURACAO. PJ5-8 were ONE entity made up of the islands of ST. MAARTEN, SABA and ST. EUSTATIUS. As of 10-10-10, the above TWO entities were “DELETED.” The NEW entities as of 10-10-10 are: PJ2 is a NEW entity consisting of just CURACAO. PJ4 is a NEW entity consisting of just BONAIRE. PJ5/PJ6 is a NEW entity consisting of the TWO islands of SABA and ST. EUSTATIUS.

9 DX NEWS DX NEWS (DX Info Courtesy of QRZ DX Newsletter) NCDXC March 17, 2011 The PJ Story continued……. PJ7 is a NEW entity consisting of just ST. MAARTEN. So, we had TWO deletions and FOUR additions. The Pre - 10-10-10 total CURRENT country count was 338. TWO were deleted, reducing the count to 336. FOUR were added making the NEW current country count 340. The ALL TIME possible country count is now 400. To qualify for the HONOR ROLL, you must now have 331 confirmed.

10 DX NEWS (DX Info Courtesy of QRZ DX Newsletter) NCDXC March 17, 2011 S21YZ - BANGLADESH Announcing a DXpedition to S2, Bangladesh, #14 Most Wanted in North America We will begin operations by March 17, 2011 and will run until March 30th. We will activate 160-10m including the WARC bands using modes: SSB, CW, and RTTY. We will erect high gain antennas, use filtering and receive antennas, and run amplifiers at 4 stations, 24 hours a day. We have a new and improved QTH and will focus on the low bands to maximize this time of year Also, we intend to listen carefully to the needs of the DX community during the operation by monitoring the activity on our website (coming soon), and other social media outlets for band openings, and dialogue with the radio community

11 DX NEWS 9N – NEPAL Please note that there are some operations now and in the next few weeks from Nepal. Kees, PA5CW was on 15 CW from 9N1AA for a short time. DO NOT QSL TO 9N1AA or to N4AA QSL the PA5CW operation via PA5CW only. VU4PB - ANDAMAN The DXpedition to Andaman is set to begin on Tuesday, March 15 and run to March 29. 12 DX NEWS (DX Info Courtesy of QRZ DX Newsletter) NCDXC March 17, 2011 EL - LIBERIA Silvano, I2YSB, Vinicio, IK2CIO; Angelo, IK2CKR; Marcello, IK2DIA and Stefano, IK2HKT will be active March31 to April 31. The call sign has not been announced yet. The Pilot station for the team is Art, IK7JWY. They plan to have 3 stations on HF and one for 6 with a beacon and cubical quad antenna. Plans call for 80-6 CW/SSB/RTTY and an on-line log search will be provided by IH9GPI. QSL via I2YSB. The web site is:. 4W3A - TIMOR LESTE Ranked at number 46 in the 2010 Most Wanted Survey, an operation by David, VK2CZ is scheduled for the CQ WPX SSB contest March 26-27. David says it will be an all band, low power operation. QSL direct to MØOXO.
