September 26, 2014 Agenda: Welcome Updates from Goal Managers Review Changes to SIP Question/Answer Next Steps

Olive Chapel Elementary Our SIP plan was quite large and we wanted to narrow our focus to best meet the needs for our school.

Goal #1: By June 2016, Olive Chapel Elementary School’s EVAAS School Accountability Growth Index score calculated from OCE’s 2015-16 End of Grade assessment results will be greater than 2.0.

Current Key Processes: Proposed Key Processes: 1 ). Implement Team Time model to support literacy development that allows for OCE staff to work with small numbers of students with similar abilities. 2). Olive Chapel teachers will utilize Daily 5/Café to deliver literacy instruction. 3). OCE staff will provide input to administration to align State and Local spending to the OCE SIP plan. 4). OCE will begin a track-out/after-school program for students who are not meeting growth during the school year. 5). Olive Chapel Teachers will implement level four opportunities for all students in the classroom. 6). Science instruction will be implemented with fidelity at grades K-5. 1). Implement Team Time model to support literacy development that allows for OCE staff to work with “smaller” numbers of students with similar abilities. 2). Olive Chapel Teachers will implement level four opportunities for all students in the classroom. 3). Science instruction will be implemented with fidelity at grades K-5.

Key Process Removed: Olive Chapel teachers will utilize Daily 5/Café to deliver literacy instruction. Rationale: There was no data to support that we needed to include Daily 5/Café in our SIP plan.

Key Process Removed: OCE staff will provide input to administration to align State and Local spending to the OCE SIP plan. Rationale: Budget decisions can be brought up to the school through the Leadership Team.

Key Process Removed: OCE will begin a track- out/after-school program for students who are not meeting growth during the school year. Rationale: Students’ growth levels can be achieved through Team Time and rigor in the classrooms.

Proposed Key Processes: Rationale: 1). Team Time can provide “smaller” group instruction on targeted skills for students with similar abilities. 2). Give OCE’s level 4 students the opportunity to show higher growth over time. 3). Science EOG test scores indicated a need to focus on this area. 1). Implement Team Time model to support literacy development that allows for OCE staff to work with small numbers of students with similar abilities. 2). Olive Chapel Teachers will implement level four opportunities for all students in the classroom. 3). Science instruction will be implemented with fidelity at grades K-5.

Goal #2: By June 2016, 95% of all staff and families (responding to survey) will view OCE as a safe, caring, healthy, and orderly learning environment achieved through PBIS. Key Process #1 – OCE will develop and implement school-wide behavior management procedures and expectation of SAIL (Show Safety, Act Responsibly, Impress with Respect, Listen to Learn) This goal/key process remains the same.

Goal #3: By 2015, 80% of staff will view OCE climate as positive and having a supportive administration. Key Process #1: To increase the positive climate and morale in the school through the use of surveys and providing opportunities for collaboration amongst staff. This goal/key process remains the same.
