1 Forming a personal conviction about drinking that honors God 1. Absolute – It’s wrong to get drunk (Ephesians 5:18). 2. Conviction – Should I abstain completely or not?  (Romans 14:21-22) [Stumbling block principle] It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.  {22} [Personal conviction principle] So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves (also 14:5 – his own mind; 14:8 – to the Lord)
