Addictions

Introduction In the social space of modern teens there are too many substances easily available in informal environments - such as coffee, alcohol and drugs. That temptation may influence theirs life in very negative ways. In this work we will try to explain where and how we meet with such substances which may led to addictions.

Coffee Many teenagers use coffee to study for long hours – often at night, which affects their necessary sleeping hours and sometimes they also feel peer pressure when going out with friends in everyday life socializing) becoming addicted to this substance. Coffee affects the nervous system and make it difficult for people to sleep well at night necessarily affecting their daily performances as well. It can also affect their bones in a long term.

Alcohol If teens consume some alcohol regularly the consequences may be serious, for example: health problems social exposure; in driving; Losing self-control. The most common way for people to start drinking is to be socially accepted, because when our friends go out for drinking or if we are invited for a party and everybody is drinking, those who do not do it may suffer exclusion leading to social pressure which is difficult to support for most people.

Drugs The most common way for people to start consuming drugs is the wish to try it because friends are consuming and the wish of trying as well may start to grow another cause to start consuming drugs is to escape from serious problems. If people consume drugs they feel addicted and often steal money and objects (that disappear from home) to buy drugs to pay for the addiction.

Conclusion We conclude that teenagers frequently start becoming addicted to these substances probably to feel integrated in the group of friends and to be more respected by such friends, which end up to be a serious mistake.
