2. What is a preposition?
A word that shows the relationship of a noun or pronoun to some other word in a sentence.
Remember it this way:
Most prepositions are anything a squirrel can do to a tree!
around a tree, below a tree, inside a tree, on a tree, through a tree, underneath a tree, within a tree

3. A huge list prepositions!
Look on page 69 of your workbook for a list of commonly used prepositions. Copy down the prepositions on your own paper. This does count as a grade. Remember: if it’s in your notes, you can use it on the test!!!

4. Object of the Preposition
Prepositions begin phrases that generally end with a noun or pronoun called the object of the preposition.
The horses jumped over the fence.
Fence is the object of the preposition.
They showered the king with gifts.
Gifts is the object of the preposition.
