5 Black Targets with Black Backgrounds Banner’s Q4X problem-solving triangulation-based laser sensor has no difficulty detecting dark targets on dark backgrounds, on a door panel, when there is a height difference.

6 Gasket Detect Banner’s Q4X sensor is ideal for presence/absence detection even in challenging applications with small height changes such as confirming a small black target is present on a shiny metal part.

20 Menu Map – New Features Zero Reference Location ■ Use this menu to select the zero reference location. The default is, 0 = the end of the sensor barrel. –Near, 0 = the end of the sensor barrel; the measurement increases further from the sensor –Far, 0 = maximum range; the measurement increases closer to the sensor

21 Menu Map – New Features Shift the Zero Reference Location after a TEACH ■ Use this menu to select whether the sensor shifts the zero reference location to the last taught distance. The default is off, 0 = the end of barrel or the maximum range. –on: Shift the zero reference location to one of the taught positions with each TEACH –off = the end of barrel or the maximum range, depending on the setting

23 Four Never Fail Teach Modes ■ Four teach modes available –Two-point teach (default) –Dynamic teach –One point BGS –One point window (foreground suppression) ■ Sensor will never fail a teach mode –Always sets a switch point –Example: In two-point teach mode, if both conditions are invalid (>300 mm) the sensors switch point will automatically be set at 290 mm –See manual for specific behaviors

24 Four Teach Modes 2 Point Teach One Point Window (FGS) Two-point TEACH sets a single switch point. The sensor sets the switch point between two taught target distances, relative to the shifted origin location. Dynamic TEACH sets a single switch point during machine run conditions. The switch point is centered between the minimum and the maximum sampled distances. One-point window sets a window (two switch points) centered around the taught target distance. One-Point BGS One-point BGS sets a single switch point in front of the taught target distance. The switch point is set in front of the taught target distance. Dynamic BGS
