4. Where Ohioans Live Most people live in urban areas How would you describe this area? Suburbs are areas surrounding large cities. What makes this area different from an urban area? – 3 out of every 4 Ohioans lives in a suburb.

5. Where Ohioans Live Columbus  Ohio’s largest city; center of the state – What is special about Columbus? Dayton and Cincinnati are larger areas in the Till Plains region. Cleveland and Toldeo are big cities in the Lake Plains region.

6. Ohio’s Resources Natural resources affect what people do and where they live. Previously, people settled in Ohio for many reasons, mainly because its rich in these resources. Settlers changed the land to meet their needs. – Forests cleared for settlements

7. Ohio’s Resources Land is one of Ohio’s main natural resources Till Plains and Lake Plains soils are very rich – Agriculture! Farms cover more than ½ of Ohio. Leading crops  soybeans and corn Cattle and hogs raised Southeastern Ohio = woods – Wood used for building and making paper
