International Data IDC research shows that by 2008, online education market will grow more than twice the online education market in the United States will reach 13.5 billion U.S. dollars, while the global online education market will reach 21 billion U.S. dollars.
Online tuitions market in India currently small ($0.5-1 Mn) but will expand rapidly ($ Mn by 2015) based on only 1% share of overall tuitions market. The potential of the market is enormous ($5B growing at 20%)

 WashingtonPost author, Mike Chediak, says that according to Sloan Consortium, more than 2.6 million students studied through online tutoring and educational courses last fall. This number is up from 1.9 million back in 2003, which is about a 23% growth rate in only one year. 
TutorVista started off as an online tutoring service providing leveraging on technology and cost arbitrage catering to students in the US. That part of the business has gained significant traction, and is profitable. So, valuations could be more aligned to the consumer internet part of the business helping the valuation level of $200M
