4 SUCCESSES OF THE COLLABORATION CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION PLAN OBJECTIVES 1.To identify ways in which the Municipality can respond to the impacts of climate change within the parameters of its powers and functions and its available resources. 2.To mainstream climate change adaptation into all activities and functions of the Municipality. 3.To establish partnerships that can make a meaningful contribution to adaptation processes. KEY INTERVENTION AREAS 1.Mainstreaming of climate change adaptation into municipal governance 2.Climate resilient low cost housing 3.Water 4.Conservation of natural resources 5.Agriculture

7 SUCCESSES OF THE COLLABORATION FLOW PROGRAMME: FOSTERING LOCAL WELL-BEING FLOW AMBASSADORS PROGRAMME Youth development Programme that also ticks our social development, local economic development and environmental awareness boxes Conduct research, surveys and undertake mapping and in so doing provide the Municipality with valuable insights while also learning to see their town through new eyes. Through the process Ambassadors will: Learn about video making (scripting, filming and editing) Learn about story telling and blogging Learn about community mapping Learn about scale model building Leadership development Personal development Environmental and social awareness

Community environmental awareness – campaigns etc Identification of business development opportunities with specific focus on green economy opportunities On the ground research for input into: Electricity Master Plan Revision Integrated Waste Management Plan Revision Water Serviced Development Plan Revision Implementation of Climate Change Adaptation Plan (Especially water component)
