8. A hydroelectric power plant seems very complicated with all those pumps and turbines, but its very simple when broken down. Water is needed to run a hydroelectric power generated plant. The water is held behind a dam forming a reservoir. The force of the water through the little opening of the dam spins the blade of the turbine. The turbine is connected to a generator that makes electricity as the turbine spins. After passing through the turbine the water flows back into the river on the other side of the dam.
