1. Rich Dad, Poor Dad Chapter 2

2. Lesson One:The Rich Don’t Work For Money Chapter 2 of Rich Dad, Poor Dad starts off with Robert having a real father who is a school principal. Who has a safe and secure jobs, but a lot of bills to pay. Robert asks his dad how to become rich, because his rich friend’s family didn’t invite him to go to the get away with them because he was considered “poor”. His dad tells him to use his head, so he and his friend Mike, make a business, collecting empty toothpaste tubes and making nickle out of them. When his dad sees, then he tells them how that its illegal and their hopes are destroyed. Robert’s dad tells him to talk to Mike’s dad, because he is a businessman and knows how to make money.

3. Working at the store Robert and Mike get hired by Mike’s dad, whom Robert refers to as “rich dad,” and they work for 10 cents a day for 3 hrs every Saturday. After working about 3 weeks, they feel fed up because they work hard and get underpaid, so Robert goes to talk to “rich dad” for a raise or he quits.

4. Fighting Temptation Rich Dad offers $1 to $5 raise for Robert and Mike to work for him, but they fight the temptation and disagree. Rich Dad then tells them that they have to work for free. Robert and Mike agree to this, even though they don’t like it.

5. Thinking Like The Rich That’s when, “rich dad” teaches them that’s how normal employees act and react. That they just get a job, and if its not enough money, blame the problem on their employers instead of themselves. Rich dad tries to teach them lifelong lessons about how to let money work for them, instead of working for money.

6. Working For Free Mike and Robert work for free for about another 3 weeks, and they keep on doing so. Rich Dad talks to them later on about how he realized they have ambition because they are able to fight greed and temptation.

7. Creating A Business While working, Robert and Mike came up with a brilliant idea, seeing that one of the employers keeps half the cover of the comic books, and throws away the rest. Robert and Mike make an agreement with the comic book distrubtor to keep the comic books, but not resell them. This leads to Robert and Mike’s first business, which is a comic book library. They keep it open 2 hrs a day, and each kid has to pay 10 cents per visit, and can read as many comic book as they want. They also hire Mike’s sister to be their secretary and keep track of finance and expenses.

8. End of Business Robert and Mike, tried to branch out, but couldn’t because they really trusted Mike’s sister. That’s when they learn how hard it is to find and hire good employees. Robert and Mike’s business is closed, because of bullies who forced themselves inside the comic book library and breaking out a fight. So, rich dad recommends to close it down. He teaches them lessons that how greed is what leads people to dragging themselves out of bed and going to a job they hate. Fear is also a factor, the fear of losing money.
