3 Daily Schedule Most Days: 8:25 Bell Rings 8:30 Tardy bell rings Students sign in in the office 8:40-9:10 Specialists 9:10-9:40 Making Meaning/Phonics/Spelling 9:40-9:50 restroom break, snack and read aloud 9:50-11:00 Finish Content area work (Making Meaning/Spelling/ Phonics/Writing/Stamina Reading) 11:00-11:45 Lunch/Recess 11:45-12:45 Math 12:45-1:15 Science/Health/Social Studies 1:15-1:30 Recess 1:30-1:45 Snack and read aloud 1:45-2:45 Writing/Conferring or Stamina – 30 min. 2:55 Dismissal (12:45 on Wednesday)

4 Specialists Library Books are due on or before Monday. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for PE on Wednesday and Friday. Music is on Tuesday and Thursday Computer lab is scheduled from 11:45-12:45 on Wednesday. (subject to change)

5 What will homework look like? Math Homework—Home Links Math Facts to start in January Reading Calendar— at least 20 minutes a night/5 nights a week No homework on Friday or over breaks. Occasional Assignments- Autumn High-rise Clothespin Dolls Leprechaun Traps

8 Classroom Volunteers Sign In and Out Wear your badge! Volunteers will begin in October. Volunteer Training September 23 rd, from 10:0-10:30, in the library. I hope you can attend. Forms: WSP and Release/Hold Harmless forms need to be done online each year and need to be returned before you can volunteer. Classroom Opportunities (Art Docent, Room Parent coordinator (Heather Matthews), copying, 1-on-1 or small group work with students ) PTA Opportunities

13 Writing Folder Assignment To help generate ideas for writing, please cover your student’s writing folder with photos, pictures or words that are meaningful for your child. If they’re stuck for something to write about, they can study their folder and perhaps get an idea. This was a powerful tool when we wrote personal narratives last year!
