1) I am interested in being a criminal investigator because I watch the ID channel a lot and I want to have a job like that. When I finally solved a murder or who robbed a bank, it would feel great. A criminal would be caught.

Values- bring justice to families and put criminals in jail Tasks & Responsibilities- to catch criminals and bring people to justice Working with data, people, things- you would be working with other investigators and cases. You would work off of the data that people give you about the case. Working hours- normally 8:30 am- 4:30 pm, but crimes can happen anytime so if they need you, they will call you in even if you’re off your shift. Aptitudes and abilities- you will have to not be scared to see blood and be flexible because your schedule is going to be weird. Education and training- the most common education is a bachelor’s degree. Many schools also offer certificate or 2-year degree programs in crime scene investigation. Completion of a 4-year degree in biology or chemistry is also required for this line of work and may offer greater career flexibility. Salary- low: $37,960 median: $62,110 high: $99,980 Career outlook- you would have to investigate crime scenes. See if there are fingerprints, ect.

3) You would always have to have your phone on because you can get calls about cases at anytime of the day/night. It doesn’t matter if you’re off of your shift. If they need you, they will call you. Your goal is to see what happened and catch who did it. 4) There are crime scene investigator jobs in Michigan but are more highly paid in California. 5) This job falls under the protective career cluster.
