6 Due Process = Constitution guarantees an accused person a fair & impartial trial. All Americans receive Equal Protection Under the law Everyone gets the same rights & treatment

7 5 th Amendment: Due Process (also 14 th ) 4 th Amendment: Freedom from unreasonable search & seizer 6 th Amendment: speedy trial by a jury & legal council citizens sworn to give a true verdict according to the evidence

8 8 th Amendment: Freedom from cruel & unusual punishment 7 th Amendment: Juries for civil trials
