Task
Build 5 squares of equal size from the pieces your group has been given in the different envelopes.
Each person must have a complete square in front of them
Rules
No talking, pointing or any other form of communication
You can give your pieces away, but not ask for other’s pieces
You cannot put your pieces in a central pile—only give them directly to another person

Partners take out one sheet of paper and one pencil (one group of 2, one group of 3)
Rally table within pairs (share ideas in writing one at a time)-no talking
Pairs compare lists between partners
Team challenge: Add any new learnings to list (Give number to add)
Task: Write down as many cooperative learning strategies as you can over the next minute.

7. JigSaw
Give each team member a different piece of the puzzle, reading material, or lab activity
Students get into expert groups and work together to master their material
Students return to their original groups and teach their teammates their material
Assess all individuals in group on their understanding of all the readings or creation of a team product

8. Send-A-Problem Students make up questions and write on 3x5 cards
Students check with teammates and write answer on back of the card
Team sends problem cards to another team
Teams respond
