3 AHA’s Goals - Workplace Partnership for Life October 2011 To communicate with the hospital field about the Workplace Partnership for Life and encourage our members to participate in initiatives that will increase the number of donor registrants throughout 2012. Hospitals will educate their workforce and communities about the importance of organ, tissue and eye donation and about how to register as a donor.

4 Hospital Toolkit November 2011 Distribute CD Toolkit using HRSA Workplace Partnership for Life resource materials (at AHA’s expense) Cover Letter from Rich Umbdenstock, AHA President/CEO Distribution: All U.S. Hospitals 5,600 Health care systems 230 Allied association CEOs 80 Allied association PR execs 75 OPOs 58 Total about 6,000 Highlight and post materials on AHA website (www.aha.org)

8 Workplace Partnership for Life Enrollment as of November 19: –10 National Partners –56 organ procurement organizations (OPOs) –668 hospitals (including 78 transplant centers) –16 state hospital associations (additional outreach underway)

9 Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital community campaign continues through May 2013 Goal is to add 300,000 in state registries from the hospital family and the communities hospitals serve “Turnkey” resources are available through your OPO or on line at: –www.organdonor.gov OR –http://www.aha.org/organdonation vi
